Amazon TV Purchase Scam
A new scam is going around. You may receive an email from Amazon informing you of your new TV purchase. If you did not order a new TV from Amazon.com do not worry this is a scam.
You will notice several key items in this email that give it away as a scam.
- First notice who the email is coming From: A normal confirmation from Amazon would look like this [Amazon.com <ship-confirm@amazon.com>], this email is sent from a person [Madge Walton <kaiseruri84@bmatter.com>], furthermore the address is not within the Amazon.com domain.
- Next, notice the poor grammer and spelling (See the full sized image).
- The next major item that should tell you that this is truly a scam, the order number provided can not be found. If you look up the order number, Amazon will tell you "No matches for ...".
- Lastly, the URL or web address when you click on 'your account' or even the description of the TV will send you to LocalSearchTrafficNow.com.
